Essie "Knockout Pout"

Today's notd is another bright pink, one of my favorite hues for both fingers and toes during the summer, Essie "Knockout Pout." "Knockout Pout" is bright, creme-y, almost-neon pink.

Even though "Knockout Pout" is an almost-neon color, I wanted to show it contrasts with an actual neon pink, China Glaze's "Shocking Pink." I also threw Essie's "Haute As Hello" into the mix since, in certain lighting, "Knockout Pout" can have almost a peach tone to it. "Haute As Hello" provides as a good comparison to show how pink "Knockout Pout" really is.

As you can see in the photo above, "Knockout Pout" is a much more creme-y pink than China Glaze's "Shocking Pink," and much more pink than "Haute As Hello."

 Even though "Knockout Pout" is a creme-y pink, it is slightly brighter than depicted in the photo below. It's bright quality, similar to neon polishes, makes it difficult to photograph correctly.

Pros

• Fun color for summer.
• Good for those who are shy to neons but still want a bright polish.
• 3 thin coats gave an opaque coverage. Easy enough formula to work with.

Cons

• Like "Haute As Hello," "Knockout Pout" dries to a semi-matte finish. Use a top coat if you want a glossy finish. I recommend Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri!

Final Verdict: Essie's "Knockout Pout," though not an outstandingly original color, is a fun one I return to for summers. It's perfect when I'm not in the mood for something as eye-catching as China Glaze's "Shocking Pink."
